What Is Covered In Our Catheterisation Training

The training provided on the day will cover a comprehensive insight into catheter care with both practical and theory sessions included.

The core training on the day includes:

• Understand the anatomy and physiology of the urinary system and the process of catheterisation
• Identify the different types of urinary catheters, their applications, benefits, and potential risks
• Explain the indications, contraindications, and potential complications associated with catheterisation
• Learn the practical aspects of catheterisation, including catheter selection, insertion, care, and removal
• Demonstrate safe and hygienic practices during catheterisation to prevent infections
• Show competence in maintaining and troubleshooting catheters and associated equipment
• Apply the principles of patient consent, dignity, comfort, and privacy throughout the catheterisation process
• Practice catheter care in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and procedures
• Recognise, manage, and report any complications or adverse events related to catheterisation

What happens on the day?

Before the training begins, all attendees will sign in and have their ID checked before being offered a range of complimentary refreshments. After this, the training will begin, and all candidates will get hands-on practical training experience and participate in many interactive exercises. All attendees will also have a chance to ask questions and speak to one of our on-site experts, who can help with any queries.
